It is covered with clear plastic so I can change the images/ view even when I am working with clay. I use the Elgato Stream deck to switch the images, scenes, screen shares, and other things that ECAM Live broadcasts through Zoom. Zoom picks up the Ecamm Live feed and that is what appears for participants watching. It is essentially a digital switcher that allows me to change cameras, insert images, overlay text, or give a visual slide presentation with ease. I run a secondary platform called Ecamm Live. I use an old iPhone 6 and my new iPhone 11 to act as secondary cameras to my main camera which is a Panasonic GH5. I enlarge the Zoom chat to 200% on the secondary monitor for higher visibility during the workshop. These are all directly connected with various cords. Connected to it I have ancillary devices to use as multi-angle cameras, a secondary monitor, and an El Gato Stream Deck. The computer runs the programs ( Zoom & Ecamm Live ). Using a Zoom Webinar License for 100 participants, I broadcast the weekly workshops using a 2019 Mac Book Pro Laptop computer set up in front of the main worktable. This is what I have figured out, and it is working for now. Everything I have written below I learned through trial and error as well as countless hours of research and watching video tutorials. In addition to that, I was terrified of being filmed. The first six months were an immense struggle to overcome the technology side of streaming, production, and video editing skills. I have found teaching online to be an invaluable platform for sharing information to a wider audience and a more affordable price point.Įvery tool, app, or resource I mention is linked below : ) This was a huge pivot from offering events based around in-person events and gathering together in groups. Since the beginning of the COVID-pandemic (March 2020), I have live-streamed, clay technique demonstration workshops weekly on Zoom.
